“See that you despise not one of these little ones: for I say to you, that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 18:10
Our heavenly Father knows that life is a spiritual battle and to help us He gave each one of us a Guardian Angel as a protector and shepherd that leads us on our journey. We are grateful that our Heavenly Father loves us so much that he gave us His only Son, Jesus, to save us from our sins. He also gives us our very own Guardian Angel!
How can we encourage children to love their Guardian Angels?
Every new day brings opportunity to teach our children to reach out to their Guardian Angels. Saying "good morning or good night" to our Guardian Angel at the family altar, praying the Guardian Angel Prayer (see below) and through daily situations that come up where we can turn to our Guardian Angel when we are afraid and need help, protection or guidance.
Prayer to our Guardian Angel
Angel of God
My guardian dear
To Whom His love
Commits me here
Ever this day
Be at my side
To light and guard
To rule and guide. Amen
Happy Feast of the Guardian Angel! Use this day to start teaching your children, and yourself, to communicate with our Guardian Angels. After all, God gave them to us as a gift - so let's be grateful for their love, intercession, guidance and protection!
